Etch issues with HP Netraid 2M
I am having terrible issues trying to install Etch on my server using this
SCSI RAID controller. The controller is detected and megaraid_mbox and
megaraid_mm are loaded, but GRUB fails to install and LILO installs, but
does a repeated EOF message on reboot. I have tried manually removing the
modules for megaraid_mbox and megaraid_mm and instead loading the legacy
megaraid, but the controller is not detected in that case. Althought
partitioning, etc. appear to work under the newer megaraid_mbox module, it
seems there is some sort of problem with my controller. This hardware setup
functioned with no issues under a 2.4 kernel. This problem could be related
to bug #317258, but I am not sure. Can anyone offer any insight into this
problem? I have a feeling it is a known issue, I just want to confirm and
see if there is a work-around. Thanks!
