On Etch 4.0 with Evolution 2.6.3 (with all updates applied).
Past 2-3 weeks my pop downloads using evolution have become very slow,
when they are going on they are consuming lots of resources. It's really
become a serious problem.
Can't figure out why this is happening? Any clues?

Did you perhaps enable the spamassasin plugin? When disabling it on my
system, it speeds up at least a thousandfold...
All plugins are enabled, but they always have been, so that should make
no difference.
It is happening only with one user, other users on the system are not
affected. I have deleted lots of mail, reduced the number of folders,
etc., but no improvement.
