How do I get out of it.

E: Dynamic MMap ran out of room
E: Error occurred while processing libsdl1.2debian-all (NewVersion1)
E: Problem with
MergeList /var/lib/apt/lists/ftp.uk.debian.org_debian_dists_unstable_main_binary-i386_Packages
E: The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened.

Google is your friend.

There are configuration options that can be set to alliveate that.
