No wrapping for desktop icon text?

Hi,
Is it possible to have NO wrapping for the text of a desktop icon (even
per icon maybe)? Now it seems to wrap at random (e.g. C++ wraps between
the C and the ++) making the text with the icons difficult to read.
TIA
