just wondering if anyone else has trouble usingwine?
everytime that i install it, i cannot get theprogram
that i would like to use with it to work (so farother
windows media player 9, realplayer 10, and a few
programs that my wife wanted me to try and installfor
her).
Why don't you show her MPlayer/Xine, etc?
A lot easier than trying to get windows aps running
on top of the
translator.
i actually got her on amarok for most stuff and vlc
for any odd extensions (which vlc is usually good for
anything, may not be as fast but if it can be played
vlc will do it) however she sings for church and likes
the idea of downloading accompanyment tracks for 0.99,
however these have that liscence issue that seems to
require wmp to resolve (yes i have explained to her
how this liscensing thing is bad and infringes on user
rights and so on, and complined to the providers about
being biased against all computer users that refuse to
submit to the evil ms empire)
good luck with that, and thanks, at least i am not the
infact all that i have been able to get to work
with wine is notepad (which is of little use).however
top shows wine gobbling up resources even when itis
not running anything, dpkg shows an error on anywhy
attempt to reconfigure so i always end up removing
wine after a couple of days. however, i do wonder
it acts that way
The best place to ask would be here:
http://winehq.org/
Which I'm in the act of doing.
I'm trying to get a specialist building programme
running on Debian that
normally only runs on XP and it looks as though I
might have to revert,
or pay somebody to run some code, if I can persuade
the proprietary body
that owns the programme to be flexible.
Regards,
only one having trouble getting wine to work after RTM
and STW
