Hi
I have a Barton core running Debian etch (kernel version 2.6.18-6-486
) and have noticed that I get this
l /usr/lib64
total 572
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1822 2007-01-01 21:36 libfrtbegin.a
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 569740 2007-01-01 21:36 libg2c.a
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 728 2007-01-01 21:29 libg2c.la
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 15 2008-01-30 15:51 libg2c.so ->
libg2c.so.0.0.0
after installing gcc, g77 and it's recommended/suggested packages. At
least that's when I think they appear. Note the lack of
libg2c.so.0.0.0 in that directory.
I apt-get removed and dpkg -P'd these packages and the libraries are
still there.
I do have
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1126 2007-01-01 21:36 /usr/lib/libfrtbegin.a
and
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 342962 2007-01-01 21:36 /usr/lib/libg2c.a
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 726 2007-01-01 21:29 /usr/lib/libg2c.la
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 15 2008-01-30 15:51 /usr/lib/libg2c.so ->
libg2c.so.0.0.0
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 15 2008-01-23 00:30 /usr/lib/libg2c.so.0 ->
libg2c.so.0.0.0
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 109700 2007-01-01
21:36 /usr/lib/libg2c.so.0.0.0
which all seem correct.
How do I find out what installed these libraries - i.e. discover what
depends on these libraries so that I may decide what to do?
Also, is it a bug that these 64 bit libraries are installed on a 32
bit machine?
Regards
L.
$ dpkg -S /usr/lib64
libg2c0-dev: /usr/lib64
On my system, this package is the dependency of g77-3.4 nad g77. Since
I don't really code in Fortran, I have just removed them.
