Strange /usr/bin file

Hi all.
I find in my Debian Lenny machine this file, in /usr/bin folder:

-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 34504 2008-01-29 04:03 [

Who created this file? What does it do?

Thanks for any reply

Regards
M
