I just subjected myself to Dell's site, looking at the vostro 1500.
Once I tweaked it, turning off any crap I could see, and boosting its
specs somewhat (! Celeron), price was ca. $1300.
I'd rather buy a three year old used box, buy it new batteries, and
load it to the gills with RAM. $600, max.
