hi,
I am looking to install Debian Etch on Dell Inspiron 640m laptop. Thejust install all 3945-related packages (kernel module, regulatory daemon, firmware, ...) from debian repositories, the card then works flawlessly.
following two pieces of hardware have been troublesome on most OSes
tried before. Has anyone installed Debian and gotten them to work?
1. Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection
if you want to install debian using this card, however, this might be a problem. i think that the installation kernels do not have the relevant module included...
2. Ricoh R5C832 5-in-1 media card readermy notebook has older reader (Ricoh R5C822) which works without problems - i unfortunately don't know the status of the newer one in debian.
best,
