MSN was obsoleted years ago when XMPP became the standard for IM. Have

Actually I haven't considered that ;-), at least not yet. I'm not a frequent user of IM so I have not kept up with developments in the field for a long time. Would that allow me to keep in touch with people on MSN cause there's no way I'm gonna be able to get my friend to switch?
