Re: Sleek and slim Gnome?

Forget about "installing Gnome" and just install the specific Gnome
packages you want.

OK well since I already have Gnome installed (Lenny CD1)... I have...

apt-get remove gnome gnome-desktop-environment

Which were empty packages... and since doing this I have finally been able to remove epiphany, evolution, rythmbox, serpentine, and the 17 gnome games.

Only problem now is every time I do something with apt-get it warns me about these...

(and one day I may need to use autoremove, and I won't want these removing... such as file-roller, or gnome-network-admin)

The following packages were automatically installed and are no longer required:
bluez-gnome gnome-network-admin gnome-power-manager ekiga python-notify
libmtp7 gcalctool libpt-1.10.10-plugins-v4l gnome-backgrounds libpth20

Use 'apt-get autoremove' to remove them.
