Flashdrive, read-only, cannot write

I had this flash drive for a few months and a few days ago, I couldn't store
data in it. I even try to reformat it but it just won't let me. Any
suggestion before I buy a new one?

Disk /dev/sdc: 2004 MB, 2004877312 bytes
16 heads, 32 sectors/track, 7648 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 512 * 512 = 262144 bytes
Disk identifier: 0x09833398

Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/sdc1 1 7648 1957872 e W95 FAT16 (LBA)

ctrl:~# fdisk /dev/sdc
You will not be able to write the partition table.

The number of cylinders for this disk is set to 7648.
There is nothing wrong with that, but this is larger than 1024,
and could in certain setups cause problems with:
1) software that runs at boot time (e.g., old versions of LILO)
2) booting and partitioning software from other OSs
(e.g., DOS FDISK, OS/2 FDISK)

Command (m for help): d
Selected partition 1

Command (m for help): w

Unable to write /dev/sdc
