Reading that forum page, I think that Johan's dpkg commands seem to
be *exactly* what you are looking for.

Unless you have inadequately described the problem.

On the old box:
$ aptitude -F "%p" search '~i!~M' > package_list

On the box :
$ aptitude install < package_list
