So to figure out just what is happening and why, you will have to tell us more then you have so far. What card is this anyway?

1. What have you done so far to troubleshoot this? What does Google have to say about this Card working on Linux?

2. What does the /etc/network/interfaces file look like.

3. What is the output of 'lsmod |grep Realtek'

You can not expect us to help you unless you give us more information.

Please explain. The subject says that Lenny doesn't recognize Realtek 8187
USB wirelss but the the list above does show it is recognized.

So what is it not doing?

Maybe the chipset is not supported by the Lenny kernel and you have to
install a newer kernel. What does 'lsusb' print?
