In Libreoffice writer, when you open a file, they are displayed in
alphabetical order.
How do you set the default order to be by date,( third column )

Mmm... in OOo, if you choose an OO-styled "open with..." menu instead
using your system's default (gtk or qt) the last option you select to
sort the files it remains unchanged, at least from the same session.

Greetings,

Hi
I'm not sure I understand what you are saying.
If you open OOo/ libreoffice writer then only two options for opening a file
are "open " & "open recent"
I've looked through Tools> options and everything else in that pulldown, but
cant find the "sort by" option

Thanks
