Unfortunately you did not say about which make process your are
speaking. From the following can I conclude you mean the NForce(2)
chipset drivers? The NVidia graphics driver install procedure will go
different. But nevertheless the NForce drivers have to fit the running
kernel too.

If you have an AMD Athlon XP it is definitely IA32. Only if you have a
new Athlon 64 (FX) you need the other drivers.
