Theoretically a 64 bit bus can take in twice as much data as a32 bit
bus. This is all fine and well but leaves these questions to ask
    yourself among others.

    1) Hard drive through-put, are you moving large amounts of stored data?

    2) Max memory, are you doing memory intensive stuff like compiling,
    video or graphics?

    3) Expansion slots or built in peripherals.

    4) What are my needs for expansion?

The AMD64 or Intel EM64T platforms do have a better bus, in the case of AMD, HyperTransport is a fairly new and fast backplane which is 16- bits wide at a nominal 1000MHz bus speed, not 64-bits wide or anything like that. ...
