I'm trying to figure out what is going on here.. I`ve upgraded a redhat 9 machine to FC1 and the wtmp file is empty.. I've restarted syslog , rebooted the machine and nothing worked... If I run last , I have this:

    [root@jade etc]# last

    wtmp begins Thu Mar 18 16:38:21 2004
    [root@jade etc]#

the permissions seem to be right:
      0 -rw-rw-r-- 1 root utmp 0 Mar 18 16:38 wtmp
      0 -rw-rw-r-- 1 root utmp 0 Fev 20 11:15 wtmp.1x

This machine is heavilly used , so I'm sure that the wtmp file should have lots of entries already...
    Any ideas?
