    I had this happen also, but my system did not eventually continue.
    What I did was boot from the cdrom in rescue and reformatted swap
    with mkswap and then rebooted.
    I suspect that swap area is not getting cleared at shutdown.
    But, I really don't know much about the swap handling process.
