    I've got FC1 on my Sony Vaio PCG-FRV35. The only stuff that doesn't
    work 'out of the box' is the modem (never tried, don't care for or use
    modems) and the ACPI powersaving/hibernate/suspend stuff just doesn't
    want to work for me (maybe you'll have better luck?). As a result, I
    can only get about 1-1.5 hrs on battery (using the wireless LAN).

    K3b works great for the cd-rw/dvd-rw and the alsa modules helped with
    the sound because I wanted the full duplex abilities. My orinoco
    wireless card just works under FC1 (very easy and painless).

    Some good, some bad. Just be aware that some people simply don't like
    change and you should be ok :)
