    Boby,
    I have the same printer and it works great for me on FC1, both OO and
    Kde applications.
    I load the HP1000 fimware simply adding the following command line in
    rc.local:
    cat /where_you_want/sihp1000.img > /dev/usb/lp0
    Be sure that all related modules be loaded at boot time.
