    In case the solution hasn't appeared yet, I have a couple
    of x86-64 systems that had the same problem.

    I did the following:

    rpm -e xorg-x11-devel

    (This gives an error, but does remove one of the xorg-x11-devel installs.)

    Then yum update works.
