    Dear Friends,
I attempted unsucessfully to directly install FC2 on a
Geode LP Mini Board (NS Geode GX1 CPU and NS Geode
CS5530 Chipset). The installer quits after attempting
to load the initrd.img. However, when I installed on a
Dell system (w/ Pentium 4), I was able to boot into
linux when I attached the hard drive from the Dell
    system to the Geode Board.

Now when I recompiled the kernel for 586 processor
option, it no longer boots with the Geode board. Why
is it that a GX1 processor boots with a kernel
configured for a P4 and not with a kernel configured
    for 586?

Also, has anyone been able to install directly on this
    kind of board?
    Thanks,
    John
