    This is correct. If you use the Network Servers on your Gnome menu bar,
    it should prompt you for a username and password. Your username should
    be in the form of:

    DOMAINNAME\USERNAME

    And of course your password. This will connect him to the needed server.
    If he wants to be automatically connected when he first logs on to his
    box, or his box to be part of Active Directory, I believe you will be
    required to use Samba, but I don't know enough about that. Let us know
    how it goes.
