verifying ipv6 is turned off

    Hi,
      How do I verify that IPv6 is in fact turned off? I have the lines

    alias net-pf-10 off
    alias ipv6 off

      in my /etc/modprobe.conf, but my DNS queries are still hanging quite
    often, even after a restart.
