    Ben,

    The delay may not be due to the IPv6 issues. What does your
    /etc/resolv.conf say?

    Take a look at the first nameserver line and try to ping that server to
    make sure you can get to it. If the first server is currently
    inaccessible you may want to re-order your nameserver lines.
