    If your laptop has one of the wireless adapters that has no linux
    drivers you AFAIK have 2 options to get it working.

    driverloader at Linuxant.com (about $20)

    or ndiswrapper from ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net (free)

So or are there other flavors of Linux that readily recognizes ... from what i remember Vector Linux was very good at supporting my wireless card out of the box, though i have since switched to Arch Linux, where i had to load madwifi semi-manually, though I think it was because i only did the base installation...Puppy would also recognize my card... ...
