    Hi All,
            I recently purchased a Sony CD-writer Model CRX230ED. Well
    "hwbrowser"or Xcdroast can correctly guess that that it's around
    dev=0,0,0.

    But when I do a

    $cdrecord -scanbus

    (w/ root it gives me:)

    cdrecord: No such file or directory. Cannot open '/dev/pg*'. Cannot open
    SCSI driver.
    cdrecord: For possible targets try 'cdrecord -scanbus'. Make sure you are
    root.
    cdrecord: For possible transport specifiers try 'cdrecord dev=help'.
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------

    But when I do this , which I found on the web:

    $ cdrecord -scanbus -dev=ATAPI

    Warning: There may be fatal problems.
    Using libscg version 'schily-0.7'

    Well will this behavior affect my writing process? If I try to burn cd
    with cdrecord, Will it be ok or shall I try safely with xcroast?

    Is it possible to restore cdrecord -scanbus to a normal behavior w/o the
    aditional arguments? Thanks. I don't really know how the system is dealing
    w/ it right now. Any explanations would be appreciated. :-)

    With kind regards,
    Didier.
