Hi, thanks for the earlier reply. Now I'm getting another problem. It says
"QTDIR must be defined" while running 'configure' for Kaffe. Does that
mean I don't have Qt installed? I'm not sure. How can I check if I have Qt
installed? In /usr/bin, I found only qtconfig and qtconfig2.

If this is indeed happening because I dont have the Qt package, how do I
    install it?

    Thanks.
