    Hi all,

    I am trying to use cvs and encountered the following
    error when I try to perform cvs import:
    Cannot access /home/cvsowner/cvsrepository/CVSROOT
    Permission denied

    I can use cvs login and login to cvs successfully. I
    can also checkout the CVSROOT using cvsowner userid.

    I have added the following file under CVSROOT:
    - writers
    - readers

    Here is my config:
    1. File permission
    /home/cvsowner/cvsrepository
    drwxr-xr-x 3 cvsowner cvs 4096 Sep 15 16:09
    cvsrepository

    /home/cvsowner/cvsrepository/CVSROOT
    drwxrwxr-x 3 cvsowner cvs 4096 Sep 16 11:05 CVSROOT

    2. CVSROOT/writers and CVSROOT/readers contain the
    following line
    ht

    3. /etc/group has the following entry
    cvs:x:501:ht

    4. user ht has the following entry in .bashrc
    CVSROOT=:pserver:ht@testsystem:/home/cvsowner/cvsrepository
    export CVSROOT

    5. user cvsowner has the following entry in .bashrc
    CVSROOT=:local:/home/cvsowner/cvsrepository
    export CVSROOT

    Thanks for the help.
    Hanny
