Thanks for the reply. I know it is not the right list
for redhat 9 but since i have spent lot of time
    installing fedora-core which I couldn't. I did not see
any best option other than this for redhat because i
had nowhere else to go. I mounted floppy drive and
windows VFAT drive. It works. :). Regarding
    ifconfig, I get follwing output.

    lo Link encap:Local Loopback
              inet addr:127.0.0.1 Mask:255.0.0.0
              UP LOOPBACK RUNNING MTU:16436 Metric:1

Also when i run /sbin/lspic, I get following output:

    Memory Controller Hub] (rev 03)

As you can see, it is decting the network card I have
here. Let me know what I should do to make the card
    work. Thanks.

So you have Redhat Linux 9 running now? Then this is
    the wrong list.
This one is for Fedora users.

Specific NIC model information is required. What does
    "/sbin/lspci"
    print out for the card?

Does the floppy drive function properly from
    Windows[tm]?

    Did you mount the floppy?

You need to mount it; see man mount. For instance:
    mount -t vfat
    /dev/hda2 /mnt/whatever

    > I tried cd /dev/hda2 (that is the partition of
    FAT32) but it says it

No, you can't access partitions directly this way. See
    man mount.

Please use the usual suspects of information
    resources. Some parts of
your posting are more than once answered here on the
    list for example.
