Just tried running "yum update" on 2 machines. Both found xorg-x11
updates available, although I see nothing on the fedora-announce-list.
Both froze for extended periods at xorg-x11-xfs. Top showed no related
activity on either. No child processes of yum appeared to be running.
Stopped xfs on the first after the problem, and on the second before the
update. No apparent difference. Ctrl-C had no effect. Finally killed
with "-9" when lesser measures failed. Went to /var/cache/yum/updates/
packages/ and manually updated with "rpm -Fvh xorg-x11-*" which ran OK.
Then successfully ran "yum update" which completed successfully;
however, found duplicate/old X11 packages on both systems:
xorg-x11-base-fonts-6.7.0-5
xorg-x11-font-utils-6.7.0-5
xorg-x11-libs-6.7.0-5
xorg-x11-libs-data-6.7.0-5
xorg-x11-Mesa-libGL-6.7.0-5
xorg-x11-Mesa-libGLU-6.7.0-5
xorg-x11-xauth-6.7.0-5
xorg-x11-xfs-6.7.0-5
Removed the old packages with "rpm -e" and everything seems to be
working.
