    hi,

installed FC3, did Yum update... using KDE/XFCE/Gnome is the same:

sound is hissing; controls not working: "aumix" sliders have no effect?!
(sound was fine in RH7.3 and RH9 using same original SB Live! card).

Found in "Kmix" a new option called "switches", and if unchecking
"IEC598 Optical Raw" the audio is muted (played with the settings
    according to http://www.linux.com/article.pl?sid=04/06/24/1638255, and
    http://fedoraforum.org/forum/showthread.php?t=26267 , which worked for
me in FC2, but not now...

    Where to go from here?
