512 RAM is probably overkill for a network attached storage, firewall
and web server. I thought that the recommended min. for FC3 was 192MB

You probably are gonna want to configure samba &/or netatalk for Windows
& Macintosh file access if it is storage server but you can use scp/sftp
clients from either but not as sexy.
Good luck - probably best to jump in and see what happens.
