    Hi all,

    we have here at work a couple of workstations running FC3, and our main servers are still running RH8. Last apt-get upgrade (today) installed util-linux 2.12a-21, which instantly caused NFS mounts to RH8 servers to fail with:

    Mar 31 14:40:52 xxx automount[12141]: >> mount to NFS server 'yyy' failed: server is down.
    Mar 31 14:40:52 xxx automount[12141]: mount(nfs): nfs: mount failure yyy:/home/l on /nethome/l

    No noticeable error messages on the servers' logs.

    Downgrading util-linux to 2.12a-16 (or 2.12a-19) brought things back to normal.

    Anyone else experiencing this? Changelog from 2.12a-16 to 2.12a-21 is:

    * Fri Feb 25 2005 <SteveD@RedHat.com> 2.12a-20

    - Changed nfsmount to only use reserve ports when necessary
      (bz# 141773)

    * Sat Dec 04 2004 Steve Dickson <SteveD@RedHat.com> 2.12a-19

    - Corrected a buffer overflow problem with nfs mounts.
      (bz# 141733)

    * Mon Nov 29 2004 Steve Dickson <SteveD@RedHat.com>

    - Made NFS mounts adhere to the IP protocol if specified on
      command line as well as made NFS umounts adhere to the
      current IP protocol. Fix #140016

    TIA

    Andre
