Canon Canoscan FB630P

Dear Sir/Madam.

Ah, the tribulations.......

I have a Canoscan FB630P -This is a parallel port scanner.
It is apparently supported under SANE. I had no problems getting
it to work under Mandrake 10.1. (Mandrake has a wizard for scanners)
Now, however, under FC3 it won't
work XSANE does not see it, does see my TV-card. I have read all the
documentation I
can lay my hands on, but no luck. Could someone please point me in the
right direction.
Computer is a Sony Vaio RB30. Parport0 and others does show up in /dev
