Not sure of your exact purpose, but you may also want to check into the
update client: ddclient
It runs as a daemon and has the ability to update dyndns/zoneedit and
other dynamic Dns providers.
yum info ddclient
Name : ddclient
Arch : noarch
Version: 3.6.3
Release: 4
Size : 138 k
Repo : installed
Summary: A client to update dynamic DNS host entries.
Description:
ddclient is a Perl client used to update dynamic DNS entries for
accounts on many dynamic DNS services.
