sound issue

Hi everybody,
I've just installed Fedora 4 (fresh install) and am disappointed with
sound quality that is immesurably inferior to the one I enjoyed while
using Fedora 3. Regardless of the source (mp3, wave, audio CD, etc.) sound
seems to be distorted and vocas sound particularly bad (terrible echo).
Anyone experienced simillar issues with new Fedora? Any clue what may be
the cause of my problem and where I should start looking for soultion?

PS. I'm using SB Live! sound card.
