    some apps need to have a raw printing-format. Check, if your server has in
    /etc/cups the following lines active:

    in mime.types
    application/octet-stream

    in mime.convs
    application/octet-stream application/vnd.cups-raw 0 -

    restart cups & try...i had an equal effect before.
