Hi All,
I'm looking to buy a UPS with greater than 90 minute battery life
for 3 servers I have. The servers are Athlon XP 2900+ with 2 EIDE
drives in each. Nothing else in the boxes.
I'm not looking for exact numbers etc, just feedback on experiences
with >90 minute UPS. What brands work well for you.

Re: UPS sharing ... can connect only 1 Server with the UPS through its USB...and the other two Servers then on the risk of electricity failure. ... Sounds way too light unless all you want to ensure is enough time for the servers to properly shutdown after a very short "holding" interval (i.e., the UPS is only used to provide outage protection for a few minutes afterwhich they must provide enough power to ensure the servers can shutdown properly). ... Why would the USB restrict which hosts can connect to the power outlets on the UPS? ... only one would have a communications connection but that doesn't prevent connecting multiple hosts to the outlets on the same UPS. ... UPS condition and Auto Shutdown ... I have a APC UPS which is provided to me with a monitoring software, ... The UPS is attached with a windows server and software is ruuning on ... i have configured it to shutdown Windows servers... it auto shutdown AIX servers... (comp.unix.aix)
