I don't know about those printers - but some models requirs a Postscript
SIMM.
My LaserJet 4 has a Postscript L2 Simm in it - for example, making it a
postscript printer. If the printer takes such a simm, the simm modules
are usually pretty cheap on eBay. Mine was under $10.00
