There is certainly a diversity of opinion and this could start a flame
war. Postfix is extremely easy to run and configure. It is extremely
flexible and - supposedly - faster than sendmail, perhaps due to its
modular construction. It has excellent filtering capabilities using
plain text or RegEx. Postfix is ideal for ease of configuration and
security is rock solid.
I have used sendmail. Configuration can be a rather esoteric adventure.
Qmail, IMO, is a dog rocket.
I have never used Exim.
