Hum looks fine -- just ran the same yum command on an i386 box here and
got the same package count, but yum install galeon worked.

Can we see your /etc/yum.conf and /etc/yum.repos.d/fedora-extras.repo?

Maybe also check

rpm -q yum

against the good ones. hey also try

yum whatprovides galeon

see what that says
