Folks,Did you look at Tools --> Privacy?
I have been using the "Instant Messenger" (gaim) on FC
and there is on thing that has been annoying me so far.
I am getting bombarded with authorization request to be
allowed buddy access and I was forced to 'Deny' authorization
every time it pops up, which in some cases is very persistent!
Even as I deny authorization, in some cases they were still
able to proceed to add me into their "buddy" list and initiate
an unsolicited chat sessions with me.
Looking through the 'preference' list and to my surprise, there
are no security features implemented whatsoever at least I cannot
find it!
I cannot BLOCK anyone or otherwise place anyone on a blacklist.
I cannot force or deny anyone from initiating a chat session with
me that was not authorized nor to purge them from some unknown list
that puts these unscrupulous people back into the blacklist or
whatever it is called. I occasionally wish to remove previously or
accidentally authorized users but unable to remove them since I do
not know of any means to do this.
Anyone have this problem too? If so, what steps did you take to
resolve these issues? Are you using a different universal IM that
has better security/control features?
Thanks for listening!
