HAL FSTAB-SYNC KONQUEROR

Guys help!!!

In FC5 HAL does not call fstab-sync to alter it any longer. However my CD
driver and USB
device used to be added like that and now I can not mount either of devices.

After adding the strings directly to /etc/fstab konqueror can not mount and
unmount CDs saying
that "this feature requires HAL".

What do I do???
