I think I see a trend here... you may be placing too much emphasis on Fedora
leadership (and "promises"), when in fact, much (most!) of the work/support
here needs to happen in the *community*.

I generally agree with this, but it is a little bit more complex when the reins are held by, and the agenda controlled by, a benign (generous even) but motivated-in-specific ways Redhat. There's no evil there but it makes for a slightly curious psychological tension in the project.
