Have you tried the back panel for the camera? That often makes a
difference with USB.
Also make sure you plug it into a USB2 port all by itself. I've had
cameras and applications freak out if a) it was in a 1.1 port and/or
b) too many things were plugged into a hub in the port.
1.1. I was wrong, too, about the printer - it's not on this box at all.
Sometimes remote printing is so simple that I forget it's not local.
