and always admitting that it was only one possibility. However, the point I
was making was that it may not have been swap at all, since other things go
on *before* you see them reported on screen.
I've not used it since I came to Fedora, I think, but as far as I can remember
it is still possible to type 'i' during the bootup (you have to be prepared
and fairly nifty) which puts it into interactive mode. That way at least you
can find out when it really choked, rather than when it seemed to.
