Now I'm trying to figure out what all the "AC EOB..." error messages were
about when encoding, and why it's failing the second pass with wrong bit rate
errors... but that's another subject line

Try VLC (VideoLAN). It can play the FLV files withoutj any complain. I
have tried it in windows version of VLC.
