You don't say which Fedora 7 Live CD you are referring to
(there are three) or what computer you are using.
My experience with Fedora 7 Test 3 (6.92) Live CD (KDE version)
was the opposite.
It booted on all 5 of my computers,
where Fedora Test 1 failed on 3 out of 5.
Two slight problems:
(1) KPowersave crashed during the boot on all 3 laptops.
Also I could not run backtrace -
it complained about the absence of gdb.
(2) NetworkManager failed to find the WiFi network
on all the machines.
And KWifiManager was no better.
[In my opinion NetworkManager is not yet fit for general usage.
Actually, I doubt if it ever will be,
since it tries to be far too clever and all-embracing.
What is needed in this case at least
is a simple program which will scan for any available networks,
allow one to choose between them,
and ask for any encryption key required.]
It is a pity, finally, that Fedora Live does not eject the CD
when one shuts down, as Knoppix does.
